About the FATC Certification

When every decision routes through the manager, the team learns to wait. Capable people disengage, and the manager becomes the bottleneck. Coaching leadership reverses that pattern.

The program gives managers the mindset, the conversation skills and the structured models to grow judgment in others instead of substituting for it: listening and questioning that surface options, feedback that develops rather than corrects, and development plans built around stretch work. The result is a team that takes initiative and a manager with time to lead.

What You Will Learn

  • Recognize where directive leadership is creating dependency instead of capability in a team
  • Lead a coaching conversation using active listening, developmental questions and reframing
  • Apply GROW, OSKAR or CLEAR to a performance or development conversation as the moment requires
  • Structure developmental feedback and build capability-building development plans around stretch roles
  • Embed peer coaching and manager routines so coaching becomes team culture
  • Coach a team from upward dependency to ownership using delegation as development
  • Adapt coaching for remote, cross-cultural, multigenerational and neurodiverse team members
  • Measure coaching impact with business-linked metrics and commit to a 90-day practice plan

Who Is This Course For?

Organizations that promote strong individual performers into management will see the gap this program closes. New and mid-level managers who still solve every problem themselves learn to hand the thinking back. Supervisors on the front line get a repeatable way to grow staff who own their own results.

Project managers who cannot rely on formal authority find coaching a more durable form of influence over borrowed team members. Team leaders and anyone with a people-development remit, including HR business partners, gain shared vocabulary for feedback and development planning. Cohorts drawn from one management layer let peers practice on each other; cross-functional cohorts spread the culture faster.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which coaching models are taught, and do managers have to use all of them?

The GROW model is taught step by step in module six as the core structure. Module seven then adds OSKAR and solution-focused coaching, the CLEAR and Co-Active models, and guidance on choosing the right model for the moment, plus digital and AI-assisted coaching tools. Managers are not expected to use everything; they learn to pick a structure that fits the conversation in front of them.

Does coaching leadership slow down decisions when the team is under pressure?

Module six draws the distinction between performance coaching and developmental coaching, and module seven covers choosing a model for the moment, so managers learn when a short directive exchange is right and when a longer developmental conversation pays off. The aim is a manager who can switch modes deliberately, not one who coaches everything regardless of urgency.

How are development plans built so they go beyond a training wish list?

Module nine treats development planning as intentional design. Managers learn five pillars of a sound plan, a capability-building pathway that sequences growth, and how to use stretch roles and developmental assignments as the main vehicle rather than courses alone. The plans that result tie each person's growth to real work the business needs done.

What does the program say about building a coaching culture across a whole department?

Module ten describes what a coaching culture looks like in practice, sets out five pillars that hold it up, and reviews research-backed strategies for culture change. Peer coaching and manager routines turn the idea into weekly behavior, and module thirteen adds case studies of coaching cultures at other organizations, including lessons from failures. Department heads can use both as a design template for their own rollout.

How do we track whether our managers are actually completing the modules?

Every corporate license includes an administrator dashboard. The L&D owner sees who has been enrolled, how far each manager has progressed through the 30 hours of self-paced content and who has completed the knowledge checks and practice assessments. Because the learning platform works on web and mobile, managers can keep moving between site visits or shifts, and the dashboard reflects it.

How will we know whether coaching is actually improving performance?

Module fourteen is about exactly that. Managers learn why measurement matters, which quantitative and qualitative coaching metrics to collect, how to link coaching activity to business outcomes such as retention and performance, and how to build a coaching impact dashboard. Module sixteen folds this into the leader as coach blueprint, so measurement becomes part of the routine rather than a one-time evaluation.
