Mastering Strategic Management Consulting trains internal consultants to scope an engagement, define the real problem and turn evidence into advice.

Internal strategy teams, PMOs and transformation offices are increasingly asked to behave like consultants: to take a vague concern from an executive, frame it, gather evidence and come back with a recommendation the board will act on. Most have subject knowledge but not the craft.
Participants learn the craft as a profession practices it: the engagement lifecycle from entry to closure, proposals and scope control, the trust work that makes an adviser credible, hypothesis-driven problem definition, executive interviewing, research discipline and the analysis that ends in a defensible so what.
An organization licenses it as 30 hours of self-paced study on the Blue Ocean learning platform, on web and mobile, so an internal consulting unit can work through the modules alongside a live engagement.
Enrollment, progress and completion for the cohort are visible on the administrator dashboard. Proposal, issue tree, interview guide and stakeholder analysis templates come with the modules, along with knowledge checks and practice assessments, and each participant who completes the program receives a digital, verifiable MBE credential.
Two kinds of organization license the program. Consulting and advisory firms use it to give newer management consultants a common method before they face clients. Corporates use it for the people who consult internally without the title: strategy professionals, business analysts in a PMO, transformation leaders and senior managers who are handed ambiguous problems by the executive team.
Both benefit from mixing experience levels in a cohort, because the modules on trust, politics and difficult conversations land differently once a participant has lived through a failed engagement. A finance or HR business partner who must advise rather than report also fits well.
The 30 modules follow the arc of an engagement, from the role to the boardroom. Modules one and two define the modern consultant and the ethics the role demands. Modules three to five cover the engagement lifecycle, proposals and client trust, and modules six to ten take on discovery, problem framing, interviews, research and analysis.
Modules eleven to sixteen supply the improvement toolkit: process mapping, root-cause tools, DMAIC, 8D and PDCA. Modules 17 to 24 build strategic analysis, from foresight and industry structure to finance and business cases. The closing modules cover solution design, AI, project management, execution, executive communication and a capstone.
No. A large share of consulting now happens inside companies, in strategy units, PMOs, transformation offices and business partner roles, and the program is written for that reality as much as for external advisers. The lifecycle, problem-definition and interviewing modules apply identically; only the commercial module reads differently depending on whether the client is internal or external.
Module seven separates symptoms from problems, then builds the framing discipline: issue trees, MECE structuring and hypothesis-driven consulting, where a candidate answer is stated early and tested against evidence. It also addresses bias, boundaries and reframing, because the problem an executive names is often not the one that needs solving. A toolkit closes the module for use on live work.
Module two sits before any technique because credibility depends on it. It covers integrity, objectivity and independence, conflicts of interest, confidentiality and consent, responsible use of AI and client data, and how to handle an ethical dilemma that needs escalation. Internal consultants in particular need these rules, since they advise colleagues they will keep working with afterward.
Yes. Module eight starts with stakeholder identification and analysis, then moves through designing and conducting interviews, the specific challenge of interviewing executives and difficult participants, and facilitating workshops and focus groups. The closing topic is how to move a group from discussion to decision, which is where most internal facilitators lose the room.
As a capability the consultant directs rather than a substitute for judgment. Module one introduces the future-ready consultant, module two sets rules for responsible use of AI with client data, and module 26 covers AI-enabled consulting with human-in-the-loop review, so evidence quality and traceability stay under human control.

Yes. A pilot cohort in one department is a practical first step. Use the corporate license form, and a program advisor will map the relevant courses and license options to your teams.
Request a corporate license for your strategy, PMO or internal consulting team, or ask about a pilot cohort before a wider rollout.
